PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for revision processing against the connection constitution change by setting a multi-cast address in common to all stations and calling the connection destination station by the name of the opposite station only. CONSTITUTION:The user inputs a name 9a of a connection destination computer system 1a of the opposite party from a keyboard by a terminal equipment 3a of a connection sender. An LAN controller 4a of the equipment 3a adds its own address 8a and a multi-cast address 6 as a designation address to the designated name 9a and sends the result to an LAN cable 5 as a call data. In stations 1a, 1b, 3b, 3c connected to the cable 5, since they have an identical address 6, the call data sent to the cable 5 is fetched. The fetched data is collated with names 9a, 9b, 10a, 10c of its own station and coincident with the system 1a being a connection destination only and noncoincident with other stations.
