PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent excessive force from being exerted to a V-belt when a pulley is deflected and so forth, by providing such an arrangement that an oblique surface member making contact with a cam roller and a support member supporting the rear of the oblique surface member make contact with each other in a relatively rotatable manner, and by providing a spring for regulating the maximum torque between the oblique surface member and the support member. CONSTITUTION:An oblique surface member 14 having an oblique surface 14a is arranged on the inner surface of a flange member 12 in a relatively rotatable manner, and an oblique surface 3e parallel to the former oblique surface 14a is integrally incorporated with the rear surface of a movable sheave 31 A cam roller 16 is rollingably held between both oblique surfaces 14a, 3e. Further, a Belleville spring 17 is provided in the cylindrical section of the flange member 12 and is checked by a snap ring 16 so as to urge the flange part 14b of the oblique surface member 14 toward the flange member 12. When the pulley deflects, the movable sheave 3 oscillates in both axial and rotating directions, but when the compulsive torque thereof exceeds a maximum torque which is regulated by the Believille spring 17, the oblique surface member 14 makes rotation relative to the flange member 12, thereby it is possible to prevent excessive force from being exerted to a V-belt.
