Marking apparatuses for printed matter, for example calendars, are known. In one form of such apparatuses, a tape-like strip of plastic material is held by means of a rubber band on the reverse of the calendar. In this case, the substantial assembly effort is especially disadvantageous, because each marking apparatus has to be mounted individually. In order to avoid this, the marking apparatus is to be of simpler construction than hitherto and to have more versatile possibilities in application. A carrier strip forms, at each of its two free ends, an open loop with the aid of which the carrier strip is fixed by frictional connection to the printed matter. The free ends ensure the frictional connection with the printed matter by prestress. A slide may also run on the carrier. <IMAGE>
