PURPOSE:To effectively discharge soil in places where an atmospheric pressure difference is present by providing a soil feeder to send soil to a soil chamber and a number of closable gates for preventing air leak between a compressed air chamber and the soil chamber under an atmospheric pressure. CONSTITUTION:Closable gates 6g and 6g' for preventing the leakage of air by the operation of jacks 6j and 6j' are provided for the upper and lower parts of a soil storage chamber 6r with capacity more than the capacity of a grab bucket 8, which is provided in a soil hopper 6 constituting a soil feeder C together with a screw conveyer 7. Soil carried from a working chamber S under a compressed air by the bucket 8 is charged through the gate 6g into the hopper 6 of a compressed air chamber A, and the gate 6g is closed and the gate 6g' is opened to permit the soil to be carried into the soil chamber B of atmospheric pressure by the feeder C. Gates for preventing the leak of air may also be provided for both ends of the casing 7a respectively.
