PURPOSE:To use a personal identification code in response to a user by providing a means identifying individually the personal identification code so as to attain the setting of plural different personal identification codes. CONSTITUTION:When a remote signal detection circuit 11 receives a 1st personal identification code as a remote signal during the automatic incoming call, a CPU 9 allows any of succeeding to be any 'message reproduction', 'recording/ reproduction of message', 'cancellation of message', or 'rerecording of message' to apply the recording/reproduction control in response to the command, and in receiving a 2nd personal identification code in place of the 1st code, only the 'recording/reproduction of message' in the command is allowed and the control in response to the command is not applied even if the command other than the 'recording/reproduction of message' is received. Thus, the 1st pass code is used for the family and the 2nd pass code is utilized for a friend.
