PURPOSE:To prevent crazing, cracking and clouding by subjecting a recording carrier to uniform photoirradiation prior to removal of a halogen-contg. compd. which is a sensitizing agent. CONSTITUTION:Interference patterns of radiations are formed in the recording carrier essentially composed of a polymer contg. an arom. ring or heterocycle having a reaction position which can be substd. with a radical in the unit structure and the halogen-cong. compd. and the halogen-contg. compd. is removed from the recording carrier by which the recording carrier is developed. The recording carrier is subjected to the uniform photoirradiation prior to removal of the halogen-contg. compd. in this case. Namely, the entire part of the film is partly crosslinked and strengthened by subjecting the entire part of the recording carrier to the uniform photoirradiation prior to the removal of the halogen- contg. compd. from the recording carrier, by which the generation of the clouding, crazing and cracking in a hologram is obviated even if the recording carrier is subjected to an abrupt swelling and shrinking treatment.
