PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel haptic interface using a Magneto-rheological Elastomer (MRE) that can change apparent rigidity in accordance with an external magnetic field.SOLUTION: The haptic interface comprises: a magneto-rheological elastomer that can change its apparent rigidity in accordance with an external magnetic field; operation input means of an apparatus, accompanied with a displacement force load to the magneto-rheological elastomer; and magnetic field control means for changing and controlling the application amount of an external magnetic field against the displacement of the magneto-rheological elastomer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
