A human prourokinase variant derived from human prourokinase by modifying the latter so that an amino acid sequence (I) of the formula Asn-X-Y (I) wherein X is any amino acid residue and Y is Ser or Thr, occurs in the epidermal growth factor domain thereof which shows a half life in blood significantly longer as compared with known human PUK and urokinase and comparable to that of the human PUK variant deficient in the whole EGF domain.
