PURPOSE:To provide the subject composition capable of imparting strong adhesivity and durability between a vital hard tissue, especially natural tooth base material, and a dental adhesive repairing material by compounding water, a hydroxyl group-having polymerizable compound, an acid group-having polymerizable compound and a curing agent. CONSTITUTION:A primer composition comprises (A) water, (B) a hydroxyl group-having polymerizable compound, (C) an acid group-having polymerizable compound and (D) a curing agent in an A:B:C:D ratio of 0.5-90wt.%: 6-90wt.%: 0.1-90wt.%: 0.01-30wt.% as essential components and, if necessary, further contains an organic solvent and/or a stabilizer to provide a primer composition which is suitable as a primer when the base material of a vital hard tissue, especially the enamel or dentin of natural teeth, or a glass ionomer cement is adhered to a dental adhesive repairing material such as a resin cement, imparts strong adhesivity and durability between both the materials and is, if desired, divided into two or more components.
