SPARK PLUGS WITH UNIVERSAL COMPONENTS In order to vary the heat rating of a conventional spark plug, a portion of the annular space 117) between the insulator (12) and the outer shell (13) is filled with a heat conducting material (24) arranged to make intimate contact with the insulator and the shell under all operating conditions of the engine.
