<p>PURPOSE:To set the adequate reference value for judging the presence in a room in correspondence with the environment conditions of a providing place with respect to an apparatus for detecting the presence in the room, which detects the presence in the room with light or ultrasonic waves and controls the lighting and the like. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus for detecting the presence in a room receives light or an ultrasonic wave which is outputted to a monitored region 10 directly or receives the reflected output. When the received light output is changed by a specified value or more with respect to a predetermined reference value, the detected output indicating the presence in the room is generated. The reference value which is set in a comparing circuit 5 is stored. When a rewriting instruction is received, the value is rewritten into the reference value which is obtained from the received output at this time. Whether the rewritten stored reference value is within the specified value or not is determined by self- diagnosis.</p> |
