RAN 4081/84 The novel pyrrolopyrazines of the general formula I wherein one of R1 and R2 signifies aryl and the other signifies hydrogen, lower alkyl or aryl or R1 and R2 together with the two carbon atoms denoted by .alpha. and .beta. signify the group A; R3 signifies hydrogen or lower alkyl and R4 signifies hydrogen or R3 and R4 together signify an additional C/N bond; R5 signifies hydrogen or lower alkyl; R6 signifies hydrogen or lower alkyl; R7 signifies hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, optionally substituted lower alkoxy, or C3-6-cycloalkyl C4-6-cycloalkenyl, C3-6-cycloalkyloxy, hydroxy, trifluoromethanesulphonyloxy or optionally substituted benzyloxycarbonyloxy; and the dotted line signifies an optional additional C/C bond, and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts of the compounds of formula I can be used in the control or prevention of illnessess or in the improvement of health, especially in the control or prevention of depressive states, cognitive disorders and neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.
