LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve a visual field angle. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device is constituted by providing a polarizer 11 and an analyzer 12 by intersecting the axes of polarization nearly orthogonally with each other on one surface side and other surface side of a liquid crystal cell 10 subjected to nearly 90 deg. twist orientation in such a manner that the liquid crystal molcules are arranged clockwise toward the progressing direction of light and by disposing the axis of polarization P1 of this polarizer 11 in nearly parallel with the direction A0 of the orientation treatment applied on te lower substrate 2 of the liquid crystal cell 10. The above-mentioned liquid crystal display device is disposed with a 1st phase plate 13 having a delay phase axis R1 within the range of a direction 15 deg. from -15 deg. on the basis of the orientation treatment direction A0 and a 2nd phase plate 14 having a delay phase axis R2, in the direction nearly orthogonal with the delay phase axis R1 of this 1st phase plate 13. The value of DELTAnd of the liquid crystal cell 12 is set within a 350 to 700nm range and the values of DELTAnd of the 1st and 2nd phase plates 13, 14 are equalled to each other within a 300 to 600nm range.
