<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a scanning electromagnetic wave beam guiding device or tracing device which is free from such a harmful effect as the multi-route interference. CONSTITUTION: A scanning electromagnetic beam device is provided with an electromagnetic energy source 25, linear antenna arrays 31-34, a beam generating device 26, phase controllers 27-30, an amplitude controller, and a modulator device. The arrays 31-34 have a plurality of radiator elements and the device 26 supplies energy to the arrays of the radiator elements from the source 25 through the device 26. The phase controllers 27-30 execute successive TO scanning and FRO scanning with a beam over a fan-shaped extent of a preset angle by selectively controlling the phases of the signals supplied to the arrays of the radiator elements from the source 25 through the device 26. The amplitude controller executes preset amplitude distribution over the arrays by selectively controlling the amplitudes of the signals supplied to the arrays of the radiator elements from the source 25 through the device 26 and the modulator device effectively changes the center of distribution of the successive TO/FRO scanning pair.</p> |
