PURPOSE: To inexpensively enhance plane heating capacity and a heating temperature by forming a paste-like heating layer by using a specific material. CONSTITUTION: A paste-like heating layer 2 is formed on a plane support member 1 composed of special steel or glass ceramics. The heating layer 2 is formed in the specific weight ratio by a molybdenum boride, first class glass mainly composed of a silicon oxide or the like on which a softening temperature does not exceed 700 deg.C, second class crystallized glass mainly composed of a silicon oxide on which an initial crystallization temperature does not exceed 820 deg.C and an organic substance. Here, the molybdenum boride imparts electric conductivity, and the first class glass prevents mixing of air by starting to soften from 700 deg.C. A protective skeleton is formed of the second class glass so that glass does not completely melt by a temperature rise. Therefore, a heating element having high plane heating capacity and a high heating temperature can be inexpensively manufactured. In an embodiment, an electric insulating layer 3 is arranged between a support member 1 and the heating layer 2, and a protective layer 4 is also arranged on the heating layer. |
