PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display element in which spacings between substrates are made uniform extending over the entire area and with superior display uniformity. CONSTITUTION:A light shielding layer 24 is provided on the substrate 12 on one side out of a pair of substrates confronting with each other so as to cover a non-display area, and the light shielding layer is provided with a notched part 26. The electrodes of the pair of substrates are connected electrically by an electrode transfer member 32 provided at a non-pixcel area between the pair of substrates. The electrode transfer member is provided confronting with the notched part of the light shielding part, and no light shielding part exists between the electrode transfer member and the substrate. |
