PURPOSE:To enhance the coercive force and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of the recording layer of a magneto-optical recording medium with a Co-Pt artificial lattice film as the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An underlayer 2 is formed on a substrate 1 with YBa2Cu3O7-x (0<=x<=1), TiC, Nb2O5, Si, an intermetallic compd. of Si with a metal, SiC, SrTiO3 or CeO2 and a recording layer 3 is formed on the underlayer 2. |
