PURPOSE:To always perform stable recording at a high speed by detecting the state of a recording head and maximizing emission drive synchronism within a range meeting the supply of ink to alter a recording speed to that corresponding to the drive synchronism. CONSTITUTION:Pinting is started and, at first, the residual amt. of the ink in an ink tank is detected in a step S1. Emission frequency, the drive frequency of a carrier motor and a drive interval performing shift are set on the basis of the residual amt. of the ink detected in the step S1 and the recording of one line is performed in a step S3. After the recording of one line, paper is fed by the quantity of one line in a step S4 to detect whether the paper reaches its terminal. After the feed of the paper, printing is completed in a step S5 when there is no printing data and the step S1 is again executed to perform recording. In the step S2, frequency, a predetermined interval or the like are set according to the table of an ROM or a calculation formula. By this constitution, even when a long time is required in the refilling of the ink tank, recording can be performed at the almost max. speed at the point of time when recording is performed. |
