Horizontal spiral accumulator for metal strip, esp. prior to pipe performing sections, in which the strip is coiled on-edge in multiple turns forming an outer coil and the innermost turn of the outer coil is led to an inner coil also comprising multiple turns, from which the innermost turn is led over the inner and outer coils to the run-out section of the accumulator. The strip edges are supported on rollers and several of the rollers (8) supporting the inner (11) and/or outer coil (6) are inclined in alternate directions from the radial by a transport angle (beta) and from the horizontal by an angle (alpha).
