<p>PURPOSE: To easily treat the substances in flue gases by introducing ammonia obtained from the sludge treatment of a public sewer plant into a combustion zone. CONSTITUTION: The gases which contain a large amount of ammonia and directly convert nitrogen oxides generated as a result of combustion in a boiler to nonhazarous substances are supplied to a heating boiler 1 of a refuse incinerating unit from a pipe 2. The pipe 2 comes from an ammonia releasing unit 3 to which the supernatant 8 from a digestion column 4 is supplied. The digestion column 4 is settled with the digested sludge 9 on its bottom and has the supernatant 8 covered by a suspended sludge layer 10 on its surface. The supernatant 8 includes a large amount of the ammonia and ammonium together with the various suspended substances. Then, the ammonia is released in the releasing unit 3 by blowing air 12.</p> |
