<p>PURPOSE:To discriminate the position and the kind of the electric fused tube fitting of a tube made of synthetic resin embedded in underground without digging. CONSTITUTION:Electric power is supplied from a transmitter 50 into terminals 35, 36, 45 and 46 of the heating wires of tube-fitting main bodies 32 and 42 of an electric fused tube fitting 31, which is embedded in soil 30, through locating wires (position searching conductors) 51, 52, 53 and 54. At the surface of the soil 30, the generated magnetic fields are detected with a detecting coil 56. The directions and the strengths of the generated magnetic fileds from the locating wires 51-54 and from the heating wires of the tube-fitting main bodies 32 and 42 are different. A current is also made to flow into a saddle junction fitting 40 through a locating wire 55, and the magnetic field is generated. Then, the tube-fitting main bodies 32 and 42 generate the magnetic fields in the different directions. The positions and the kinds of the tube-fitting main bodies 32 and 42 and the saddle junction fitting 40 can be discriminated without digging based on the directions and the strengths of the magnetic fields, which are detected with the detecting coil 56.</p> |
