The invention relates to a curved tension roll comprising a shaft, bearing-mounted tubular sections joined together to form a unit by means of flexible coupling elements 6a arranged in and between the successive tubular sections. The coupling elements comprise two thick-walled, rigid coupling rings 8, 9 and a flexible coupling ring which is moulded between the rigid coupling rings and together with the coupling rings 8, 9 forms a solid unit. In the coupling element each of the rigid coupling rings 8, 9 has a depression 14, 15 facing the other rigid coupling ring 9, 8 with a curved edge for the flexible coupling ring 10. Under the flexible coupling ring 10 each of the coupling rings 8, 9 has a support projection 16, 17, which runs from the depression 14, 15 with curved edge towards the other rigid coupling ring 9, 8. <IMAGE>
