<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a pointing device and improve the operability by controlling a cursor with the output pulse voltage of an amorphous magnetic wire. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnet 6 is incorporated in a cup 7 and amorphous magnetic wires 18 are put laterally in four grooves 19b of a wire holder 19. When an AC current of frequency fo is applied to the electromagnetic 6, the amorphous magnetic wires 18 are excited with the external AC magnetic field of the electromagnet 6 to generate pulse voltages of doubled frequency 2fo by Matteuci effect. A stick 2 is operated and then the distances between the amorphous magnetic wires 18 and electromagnet 6 vary, so that the influence of the AC magnetic field of the electromagnet 6 on the amorphous magnetic wires 18 becomes different as the distances vary. Consequently, the pulse voltages of frequency 2fo generated by the amorphous magnetic wires 18 vary. For the purpose, the cursor, etc., is controlled on the screen of a computer with the pulse voltages.</p> |
