MULTILAYER ORIENTED/SHRINK FILM

PURPOSE: To enhance stretchability and elasticity memory by providing first and second outer layers and the core layer between both outer layers and constituting two outer layers of a two-component polyethylene blend consisting of a specific wt.% of ultra-low density polyethylene with specific density and a specific wt.% of linear density polyethylene with a melt index of below a specific value and specific density. CONSTITUTION: A biaxially oriented heat-shrinkable laminated stretched film to be crosslinked contains first and second outer layers and the core layer interposed between both outer layers. Each of the outer layers contains a two- component polyethylene blend consisting of about 25-75 wt.% of VLDPE with a density of about 0.900-0.914 g/cm<3> and about 25-75 wt.% of LLDPE with a melt index of below 3.5 g/10 min and a density of about 0.917-0.925 g/cm<3> . LLDPE constitutes below about 35 wt.% per the total film wt. This film has biaxial heat shrinkage characteristics and is crosslinked to such a degree that the film is heat-sealed but not melted down during a contact time of about 2-4 sec on a plate heated to a contact surface temp. range of about 138-204 deg.C.
