PURPOSE: To efficiently attain divided transmission/reception of a long text message by providing a link code to each of message data sent through dividing. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 46 masks a range in excess of allowable transmission data amount in the case of input of transmission message data. When message data comprising character data are displayed on a display section 61, the character data of a message are converted into numeral data and displayed on a display section 61 via a display buffer 60. Furthermore, the CPU 46 in the case of sending a free message converts character data into numeral data in an allowable range of the transmission data amount and numeral data '*07' in three digits indicating a code 'U7' is added to a head of the numeral data and numeral data '*2' in two digits indicating a link code '-' is added to the end and then the free message is sent through dividing.
