<p>A piezoelectric vibrator is housed in a case (10), the opening of the case (10) is sealed with a base (18). The base (18) of a columnar body having an elliptic or nearly elliptic cross section perpendicular to the axis of the case (10) at the part which comes into contact with the case (10). The case (10) is a tubular body having a cross section whose inner periphery is elliptic or nearly elliptic and smaller than that of the base (18) and which is perpendicular to the axial direction at the part which comes into contact with the base (18) and has a closed end and an open end. The base (18) is press-fitted to the open end of the case (10) to seal the vibrator. The press-fitting allowance is such that it is maximum between the minor and major axes of the elliptic or nearly elliptic cross section.</p> |
