PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an acrylic emulsion containing alkoxysilyl group which has good long-term storage stability and good film-forming properties and forms a film excellent in durability by using specified alkoxysilanes. SOLUTION: This emulsion is obtained by the emulsion polymerization of a mixture of 80-99wt.% monomer selected from among a 1-18C alkyl acrylate and a monoalkenylbenzene, and 1-20wt.% total of a silane selected from amongγ-(meth)acryloxypropyltrimethoxysilanes, and a silane selected from amongγ-(meth)acryloxypropylmethylotiethoxysilane,γ-(meth) acryloxypropyltriethoxysilane andγ-(meth)acryloxypropylmethyldimethoxysilane [the weight ratio of the former silane to the latter being (60:40) to (10:90)] in the presence of a reactive surfactant, wherein the average molecular weight of the produced polymer is at least 50,000. |
