PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a vinyl chloride polymer having improved moldability and giving moldings having improved hot mechanical strengths and being easily crosslinkable by polymerizing a vinyl chloride monomer or both this monomer and a monomer copolymerizable therewith with a specified organosilane compound. SOLUTION: A vinyl chloride monomer or both this monomer and a monomer copolymerizable therewith, an aqueous medium, 0.05-10wt.%, based on 100 pts.wt. vinyl chloride monomer, organosilane (e.g. vinyltriethoxysilane) represented by the formula (wherein R<1> is an olefinically unsaturated structural unit; R is an alkyl or an aryl; X is a hydrolyzable group; and n is 0-2), an oil-soluble polymerization initiator, a suspension stabilizer and optionally other additives are introduced into an autoclave, a vinyl chloride monomer is fed into the autoclave under agitation, and the entire mixture is heated for 5-12hr at 40-70 deg.C. The water is used in an amount of 1-3 pts. vol. per pt. vol. of the vinyl chloride monomer. This suspension polymerization gives a vinyl chloride polymer suitable for flexible polymer products. |
