摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by writing operation for a pixel which does not require write-in by selectively driving each one or every pixel block constituted of plural pixels out of the pixels arranged in a matrix state. SOLUTION: Out of the pixels (liquid crystal cells) arranged in matrix form, an on-voltage is applied to each address line by a row address line driving circuit 12 and a pixel block address line driving circuit 13. In such a case, a picture signal from a pixel signal conductor 20 can be impressed only on the pixel where switching elements SW1 and SW2 are simultaneously turned on. In this device, a pixel block address line 22 is simultaneously applied to the switching element SW2 of every pixel in the pixel block per block unit to make it in an on-state, so that plural pixel blocks are optionally selected and the pixel of the block is controlled to be driven.</p>
