PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having a memory performance in each pixel without causing any cross talk. SOLUTION: A planar first driving electrode 5 is formed on a first substrate 2, and a planar photoconductive layer 6 is formed thereon. Pixel electrodes 7 are arranged on the photoconductive layer 6, and an anode line 13 insulated from the photoconductive layer 6 is formed along the line of the pixel electrodes 7. An EL element 8 formed by laminating an anode electrode 10, an organic EL layer 11 and a cathode electrode 12 is formed integrally with the first substrate 2 above the projecting part 7A of the pixel electrode 7. In this constitution, signal light from the EL element 8 is made surely incident on the photoconductive layer 6 without causing any cross talk, and a drive voltage is applied to the corresponding pixel electrode 7. When light incident on the photoconductive layer 6 is interrupted, stored charges remain in the pixel electrode 7 to held an electric field for driving a liquid crystal 4. |
