The electron gun for reducing the astigmatism includes a cathode (11), a control electrode (12), a screen electrode (13), five focus electrodes (14-18), and a final acceleration electrode (19). The hole (15H) passing the electron beam, of which horizontal side is longer than the vertical one, is formed on the electrode (15). The hole (17H) passing the electron beam, of which vertical side is longer than the horizontal one, are formed on the electrode (17). The focus voltage (vf) is applied to the electrodes (14,16,18) and the dynamic focus voltage (vd) being synchronized to the deflection signal is applied to the electrodes (15,17).
