SOLUTION: This device is provided with a dictionary for predictive input 42 registering information for inputting prediction based on a reading character string inputted for preparing a document, a predictive processing part 50 acquiring plural predictive character strings based on the read character string by referring to information registered in this dictionary 42, a dictionary 44 for specifying a document field registering information for specifying the field of a document based on the content of a preparing document, a document field specifying part 52 specifying the document field by referring to information registered in this dictionary 44, a first narrowing part 54 narrowing plural predictive character strings discriminated by the part 50 corresponding to the document field specified by the part 52, and a character string candidate display part 56 displaying a narrow predictive character string and inputs a predictive character string selected from the displayed predictive character strings. |
