PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen sensor in which the fixation state inside the casing of a ceramic separator can be maintained satisfactorily for a long period. SOLUTION: An oxygen sensor 1 is constituted in such a way that a shaft- shaped oxygen detecting element 2 and a ceramic separator 18 inside a cylindrical casing used to house the element are installed coaxially with the casing, that they are supported by a casing-side support part formed in the rear end part of the casing and that a plurality of lead-wire through holes 72 are formed so as to be passed in the axial direction. A cover member 16 is arranged coaxially with the casing, it permits respective lead wires 20, 21 to be extended to the outside at the rear of itself, and it is coupled to the casing from the rear side in a state that the ceramic separator 18 is covered from the outside. A metal elastic member 74 is arranged in a compressed state between the cover member 16 and the ceramic separator 18. A sandwiching-pressure holding force with reference to the ceramic separator 18 is generated between the cover member 16 and the casing-side support part. |
