<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a holding/releasing operation of a material to be welded, by holding it with an opening/closing clamper supported on a rotary base and rotatably driving the base. SOLUTION: From outside the cylinder of a rotary base 3, a material to be welded is inserted through a slitting 2 in the direction of the cylinder diameter by a horizontal movement and transferred into the space inside the cylinder. Then, with the material held by an opening/closing clamper 4, the material is made to penetrate the space inside the rotary base 3 in the Y direction, and positioned at the center axis Lyc of the rotary base 3. With the rotary base 3 rotatably driven by a motor 6, the clamper 4 is rotated around the center axis Lyc with the rotary base 3, rotating the material around the center axis Lyc. Consequently, the material can be welded in the circumferential direction, with a welding torch 5 fixed. Upon completion of one round of welding, the clamper is opened, so that the material is pulled out from the space inside the rotary base 3 through the slitting 2 in the direction outside the cylinder by the horizontal movement and that the material can then be taken out of the rotary base 3.</p> |
