PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flat flexible cable advantageous for lowering the height. SOLUTION: This connector 1 comprises an insulating housing 3 supporting a plurality of terminals 2 arrange in parallel at prescribed pitches and a pressure member 4 so constituted of an upper side plate 4a along the upper face 3a of the insulating housing 3 and a lower side plate 4b along the lower face 3a as to have a U-shaped cross-section shape and so installed as to slide back and forth in the longitudinal direction of the terminals 2. The pressure member 4 is provided with a pressure piece 24 which is open toward the outside against the elastic force at the time of sliding backward and restored in the inside by the elastic force at the time of sliding forward, so that the pressure piece 24 pushes a conductor of a flat flexible cable 30 to a contact part 6a of the terminal 2 and at the same time the lower side plate 4b of the pressure member 4 backs up the contact part 6a of the terminal 2 through the insulating housing 3. |
