<p>The present invention relates to a method for producing phenylsylsesquioxane block copolymers, wherein said method uses a dual-function oligodiorganylsiloxane (DO) of the formula: X(R1R2SiO)¿pSiR?1R2X, wherein R?1 and R2¿ represent aliphatic radicals comprising from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or phenyl, p represents an integer from 10 to 300 and X represents Cl, R?3O or R4¿C(O)O in which R3 is CH¿3?, C2H5 or C3H7 while R?4¿ is CH¿3? or C2H5. The dual-function oligodiorganylsiloxane is mixed with a phenyltrichlorosilane (PHEN) in an organic solvent (OS) in a proportion that ranges from 10 to 100 moles of PHEN for 1 mole of DO. The solution thus obtained is then mixed with an aqueous solution having a non-organic base. The organic portion is further removed from the reaction mixture before extracting from said portion a block copolymer having a viscosity of between 10 and 300 P at 20° C.</p> |
