<p>A valve assembly (1) has a body (2) with a through bore in which a closure member (8) is slidably mounted. There are sealing surfaces (6, 10) in the bore and on a head (9) of the closure member (8) respectively. The sealing surfaces (6, 10) are moved together and apart by a crank means (13) pivotally mounted in the body (2) and having a crank pin (20) engaged in slots (21) in vanes (12) of the closure member (8). A liner bag puncturing means (11) on the head (9) of the closure member (8) is housed in the valve assembly bore when the sealing surfaces (6, 10) are in contact and can be moved to an extended position beyond the valve assembly body (2) by the crank means (13).</p> |
