<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating an electric arc furnace, in which uniform melting of charged material in the furnace can be attained, and also, by which further lowering in unit requirement for the electric power can be attained. SOLUTION: At the time of executing the melting of an in-furnace charged material 3 such as scrap with the electric arc furnace 1 provided with water cooling panels 1W on the furnace wall, the melting condition of the charged material 3 such as scrap and the head loading at each portion of the furnace are grasped by measuring and controlling the heat conductive quantity Q= (drained cooling water temp. tB - supplied cooling water temp. tA)×cooling water supplying quantity V to the water cooling panel 1W, and the uniform melting is promoted, and also, the total heat conductive quantity from the furnace body is reduced.</p> |
