The invention relates to an arrangement for sealing the end of a bend compensated or adjusted roll or other machine element, the roll comprising a centre shaft 1 and a supported shell 2 rotating around the former, between which a pressure chamber 6 has been formed, into which a pressure medium can be fed for compensation or adjustment of the bending of the roll. The arrangement comprises two circular, sealing surfaces 15, 16, pressing against one another and sliding in relation to one another, of which one 16 is adjusted in connection with the shell and the other 15 in connection with a structure that is fitted to the centre shaft. The surfaces are designed to prevent the pressure medium leaking out of the pressure chamber 6 at the end of the chamber. In order to eliminate uncontrolled leakage due to abnormal wear caused by the angular changes of the shell, the structure fitted to the centre shaft comprises a sealing ring 8 and a load ring 9, which are joined together by means of spherical surfaces 30, 31, the surface pressure between the sealing surfaces 15, 16 being equal at every point between the surfaces, regardless of the angular changes occurring in the shell 2, the movement of the sealing surfaces 15, 16 in a radial direction relative to one another having been eliminated. <IMAGE>
