PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an editing system capable of shortening editing time, and reducing the capacity of a disk medium used for editing to be relatively small. SOLUTION: Out of first and second moving picture information separately recorded in two places on a first tape medium 102, the first moving picture information is copied on a disk medium, then the first tape medium 102 is advanced from the position of the first moving picture information to the position of the second moving picture information, the second moving picture information on the first tape medium 102 is copied on the disk medium 102, and then the first and second bits of moving picture information on the disk medium are continuously copied on a second tape medium 104.
