<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the strength value optimum and also to shorten the development and design period where the strength value is kept at an optimum level by selecting a partial area out of a specific area and making the strength of the selected area a set level. SOLUTION: A front crash experiment of an automobile is carried out by using a real automobile or in computer simulation. A partial area that affects intensively an area including the lower and front parts of a front seat part is extracted and selected from the experiment data or the known data. The members which control the strength of the partial area include an engine stage, an engine stage reinforcement member, the tire support parts, the tire support part reinforcement members, a get-on position floor and a get-on position floor reinforcement member. The crash experiments are carried out on a plurality of types of the bodies of automobiles which are assigned on an orthogonal array and an estimating expression is obtained from these experiment data. The total weight of the above six members is applied as an objective function and an optimization calculation is carried out. By this optimization, the strength of the relevant automobile body reaches the set level. Then the weight of the automobile is minimized according to the decided strength.</p> |
