<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an illumination device having high efficiency of light entering a light guide body by disposing a collimating means on a light guide body, at least one side of the light guide body to increase the parallelism of the incident light to the light guide body, and a light guiding means disposed near the collimating means and consisting of a light source and a reflection plate around the light source. SOLUTION: A light guiding means 10 having a collimator 11 as a collimating means is disposed on the side face of a light guide body 20 made of a transparent acrylic resin, and a cold cathode fluorescent lamp having the emission wavelength corresponding to the length of the light guide body 20 as a light source 40 and a reflection plate 41 which covers the lamp and allows the light to enter the collimator 11 are disposed on the end of the light guide means 10. A polarization converter 30 is disposed on the exit side of the light guide body 20. As for the reflection plate 41, a cylindrical or oval cylindrical plate to surround the cold cathode fluorescent lamp is used. The back face of the light guide body 20 is formed so as to convert the light emitted from the collimator 11 into the light in stripes to emit the light according to the pitch of the polarization converter 30. A reflection plate is formed on the reflection face of the collimating means.</p> |
