COLOR FILTER WITH SPACER, ITS PRODUCTION AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DEVICE USING THAT COLOR FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily form a spacer to desired height only on a light-shielding layer and to provide a liquid crystal device having a uniform cell gap and excellent display characteristics. SOLUTION: A black matrix 2, a color layer consisting of a colored part 9 and a noncolored part 5, a protective layer 10, and a transparent conductive film 11 are formed on a transparent substrate 1. Then a spacer forming material 13 of high concentration having 50 mass % or less solvent content is partially applied through an ink jet head 12 on the transparent conductive film 11 in the region overlapped with the black matrix 2 and hardened to form a spacer 14.
