SOLUTION: A microcomputer sets the clutch pressure Pfc1 of a forward clutch from '0' to an initial clutch pressure for slightly starting a vehicle and then keeps this initial clutch pressure, when the shift position Ps is set for forward. The microcomputer sets the clutch pressure Pfc1 from the initial clutch pressure to a maximum clutch pressure when the rotating speed differenceΔN between the detected input-side rotating speed Np and output-side rotating speed Nt is less than an allowable judgment valueΔN0.
