PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cycloolefinic polymer solution, capable of productively giving a film with easy control of thickness and therefore suitable for a solution casting method, of a cycloolefinic polymer excellent in moistureproofness, tearability, openability, combustibility and the like, and to provide a cycloolefinic polymer sheet or film free from a foam mark and having good external appearances obtained using the same. SOLUTION: The cycloolefinic polymer solution comprises 100 pts.wt. of the total of 0.1-80 pts.wt. of at least one cycloolefinic polymer having a specific structure and 99.9-20 pts.wt. of a solvent for the cycloolefinic polymer having a boiling point of 100-160 deg.C at a pressure of 1 atm and a solubility parameter of 7.5-9.5. The film or the sheet of the cycloolefinic polymer having a thickness of 1μm to 1 mm is obtained by the solution casting method using the cycloolefinic polymer solution.
