PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing hexabromo cyclododecane in a high purity and a high yield, which can reduce the generation of isomers and recover the hexabromo cyclododecane in the form of crystal or particle and reuse the used solvents. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises the steps of: mixing ethanol with 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene; mixing ethanol with bromine to form an ethanol-bromine composite; dropping the ethanol-bromine composite to the cyclododecatriene solution and stirring, wherein dichloromethane is added to the ethanol-bromine composite until 1/3 volume of the ethanol-bromine composite is dropped; recovering the dichloromethane by an atmospheric distillation or a vacuum distillation at 30deg.C or lower after finishing the bromination of the cyclododecatriene; recovering the crystals or the particles of the hexabromo cyclododecane. The volume ratio of ethanol/dichloromethane is 10/90-90/10.
