PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an innovative optical soldering method and an optical soldering device in which a fiber core in an optical connector is solder-sealed, not by a conventional induction heating system, but by a method of the light irradiation, and the soldering suitable for this application is possible. SOLUTION: The optical soldering method to solder-seal an outer surface of the fiber by the light irradiation comprises a step (1) where the inside of a casing 3 forming a solder-sealed area is turned to be in an inert gas atmosphere or a reducing gas atmosphere, a step (2) where the fiber (52) to be heated is fixed to the inner side of the casing 3, a step (3) for irradiating the fiber (52) with the light, a step (4) where a thread solder is fed from a solder feeder (21) with a tip thereof located inside the casing 3, and a step (5) for performing the solder-sealing to an outer surface of the fiber by irradiating the fed solder with the light.
