PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an unsaturated polyester resin composition which can provide a thermosetting molding material having excellent designing property, high luster and high smoothness and high strength, to provide a method for producing the same, to obtain the thermosetting molding material using the unsaturated polyester resin composition and a plastic molding having high luster, high smoothness and high strength. SOLUTION: This unsaturated polyester resin composition is obtained by dissolving an unsaturated polyester resin which comprises (a) a mol of anα,β-unsaturated polybasic acid or its anhydride, (b) b mol of a saturated polybasic acid or its anhydride and (c) c mol of a polyhydric alcohol as raw materials in the compounding molar ratio of (a+b)/a/b/c of 1/0.7-1.0/0-0.3/0.7-1.3 in a crosslinkable monomer and reacting the solution with a diisocyanate.
