METHOD FOR CORRECTING COLOR ERROR DUE TO DAMAGED INK EJECTION ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate a damaged ink ejection element in a printing system using a single pass with respect to a recording medium. SOLUTION: A reference print mask is obtained to recognize a damaged ink ejection element. An original color measured value is confirmed by each pixel to be printed by the damaged ink ejection element and a replaced color measured value of which the value is the nearest to the original color measured value which is represented without using the damaged ink ejection element is determined. A number of ink drops to be deposited and the color are adjusted based on the replaced color measured value to change a reference print mask to form the changed print mask. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
