PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping member which can wipe a nozzle formation face of a recording head by an appropriate strength without generating an unwiped part or uneven wiping, particularly a wiping member which can wipe well even in an inkjet recorder with a shifting mechanism for a recording head. SOLUTION: The wiping member 11 formed of an elastic material in a nearly plate-like outline is made to satisfy relations of a thickness of T=1.3-2.0 mm, a length L of a deformed part elastically deformed at a butting time to the recording head of 6.5-10.8 mm and a hardness of H=52-70°(RHD).
